Specialty Ensembles

With a vision to provide the very best music in Colorado, Masterful Musicians is proud to present our roster of Specialty Ensembles! Although not every musician in these ensembles has obtained a University Master’s degree, every group here has earned our respect and admiration. We have personally reviewed and vetted these ensembles based on their performance quality, popularity and professional longevity. Masterful Musicians has actively sought these select bands to represent particular styles of music.

We only represent one of each; Original Contemporary, Rock, Top 40’s, Traditional Jazz, Swing, Show-tunes, Brass bands, Classical salon music, Salsa/Latin, Island, Bluegrass, Classical guitar, Mariachi and Christian A cappella.

These Ensembles are perfect for Weddings, Receptions, Corporate Parties, Non-profit Events, Conventions, Galas, Reunions, Festivals and Fundraisers.

Andy's Band Andy was raised on the idea that music can paint colors more vivid than any paintbrush. He does just that, weaving the world of flamenco and classical guitar into an arsenal of upbeat, contemporary-folk songs that are 100 percent, unmistakably Andy!
Award-winning Nashville recording artist, songwriter and classical guitarist, Andy holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Andy was previously on the Music Faculty at the University of Colorado, where he taught guitar, theory and songwriting during graduate studies.
Winner – National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts Competition

legacy-tires Legacy is a nationally known Christian vocal group whose sound has been compared to many world-renowned groups such as Take 6, Glad, A cappella and the Gaither Vocal Band. The group consists of Clint, Michael, Marty, Josh and Jake. Their A cappella sound is described as fresh and exciting. Our Brass Quintet is a dynamic ensemble of extraordinary lady-musicians! 

Members of the group have performed with many of the best music ensembles in the state and around the country.They have received several local honors/awards and were selected as winners of the Angie Southard Chamber Music Competition in 2001.

Most recently, the quintet was advanced to the finals of a prestigious national competition, the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and placed in the top 6 wind chamber groups in the country. Our Brass is perfect for large functions, festivals, community celebrations and conventions.

From his East Coast Baltimore, Maryland roots, Mel’s guitar provides a roomful of music. His instrumental styling provides a warm, inviting sound, just right for that special occasion. With crisp, clean sounds inspired by such Jazz guitar legends as Jim Hall, Wes Montgomery, and Pat Metheny, Mel’s styles of the Jazz Standards, Bossa / Sambas, and some of your favorites are well-played with an original Jazz flair.

 I Wanna be Like You

ScottMartinGroup Pianist, Scott, whose NYC studio credits include co-writing and producing the track Magnetic with the band Steps Ahead, featuring Michael Brecker and Diane Reeves, as well as recordings with Carly Simon and Mariah Carey, began playing every Sunday afternoon at Vic’s Espresso in Boulder several years ago. Bret Saunders writes in the Denver Post that Scott’s Ensemble, “plays jazz from the ’30s through the ’50s with enthusiasm and obvious affection, and everyone in the septet holds his own…” This band is ideal for corporate and private events requiring outstanding technical musicianship as well as style! *

This Bluegrass Band specializes in old-time bluegrass music with some traditional blues and country music thrown in. Americana music personified! These fellas have twenty years of perfecting this sound. Their warmth and friendliness is appreciated by audiences throughout Colorado.

Massif is defined as a compact group of mountains, especially one that is separate from other groups. Our Massif Trio is a refined group of phenomenal musicians. They stand out as individuals and as an ensemble. Massif is comprised two classical guitars that have been arranged to accompany rich vocals. Jonathan’s award winning arrangement of Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe Op. 48 is being published by Clear Note Publication and recorded for Azica Records. Ukulele Duo Island music is very relaxing and more versatile than one might think. 

The ukulele is a great example of an instrument that began by being associated with music from Hawaii. Developed in the 1880s, the ukulele is based on a small guitar-like instrument which Portuguese cabinet makers produced. It then gained great popularity in the early 1900′s for jazz and pop-standards. Let our Ukulele Duo take your party or reception to another place and time! Use it for the entire event or schedule the duo for a special segment to charm everyone.

Randy Bagpiper Randy has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipes for 15 years. Currently he is a competing member with Ciorcal Cairde Irish Pipes and Drums. He also plays with the Pipes and Drums of Celtic Colorado, one of the premier bagpipe bands in Colorado and the official bagpipe band of The Denver Brass. *
