Aaron

While having earned two Bachelors and one Masters degree in music, Aaron considers his practical education to have come from performing with international guitar heroes, including Joscho Stephan, Bjorn Thoroddsen, Robin Nolan, Denis Chang, Richard Smith, Greg Koch, Dave Beegle and Olli Soikkeli. Aaron continues his studies under the remote tutelage of Gonzalo Bergara, who currently serves as his primary artistic influence.
Aaron formed Swing Je T’aime, a popular band based in Denver which has appeared throughout the U.S. and in Europe. His latest album “Aaron Walker – Menagerie” (2014) features an impressive compilation of artists in the US, Europe, and Asia. Aaron also enjoys composing music for live performances, audio recordings, and films, including a feature-length score for the Regional Emmy-nominated sports documentary, Dream Season (2012).

Adam

Pianist, composer, bandleader, and piano teacher Adam is a prolific and skilled pianist, active musician on the Denver music scene and teacher in the Denver area. In addition to his own jazz ensemble, Adam also plays with many ensembles, bands, and groups including Nina Storey, Kim Dawson and Sisters of Soul, Wellington Bullings, The Motet, John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light, Wynard Harper, and many others. Anna

Anna graduated from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of music with a Certificate in Orchestral Studies in Violin (2009) and a Master’s degree in Suzuki Violin Pedagogy (2008). While attending DU, Anna had the privilege to study with Linda Wang and Yumi Hwang-Williams and did her Suzuki teacher training with James Maurer. In 2006, Anna graduated summa cum laude from Humboldt State University with a B.A in violin performance. During her four years at H.S.U where she studied with Dr. Cynthia Moyer, Morris was the concertmaster of the Humboldt State University Symphony, and was the first violin of a student formed group, the Klamath Quartet. Anna has an intense love of chamber music, and has attended many summer chamber music programs where she studied with quartets such as the Pacifica and the Cavani. Morris also enjoys performing as a soloist, and made her debut at the age of 12 with the Mad River Philharmonic. Later solo appearances included performing with the Eureka Symphony (winner of the 2001 “Young People’s Concert” competition), and the Humboldt State University Symphony (honorable mention winner of the 2005 Concerto/Aria competition). Morris performed Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto in D with the Eureka Symphony Orchestra in their Winter Concert, February of 2013.

Beth

Masterful Musician, Beth RosbachBeth is a classically trained cellist who happens to be a rock  n’ roller at heart.  She
first pursued her cello studies at the University of Oklahoma, graduating summa cum laude
in 2001 and then the University of Colorado, completing a Masters Degree in Cello
Performance in 2004.  She now teaches privately and freelances throughout Colorado, and
is the founder and director of Sphere Ensemble, a conductorless string ensemble noted as a  rising force in Colorado’s music scene. She also performs regularly with Boulder-based
indie-rock band Wadirum and numerous side projects throughout the Denver metro area.
Praised for her adaptive yet virtuosic playing,Beth has performed chamber recitals
across the United States and in Europe.  She has appeared on stage with musicians as diverse
as Lynn Harrell to renown pop and electronic musician Moby, to violin virtuoso and
“world musician” Kailin Yong. .

Cami: Master of Trumpet! Cami moved to Colorado for graduate study in music therapy at Colorado State University, where she earned a master of music degree. In high demand, Cami plays all along the Front Range, performing with the Boulder Philharmonic, Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Collins Symphony and the Colorado Symphony. She serves as Principal Trumpet of the Longmont Symphony and is a member of the Denver Brass.

Clint Lives Jazz! This long time resident of New York received his undergraduate degree from Long Island University and completed his master’s program here in Colorado. He brings “east coast cool” to Denver. He worked for many years as an adjunct professor at Long Island University and remains an active Jazz Guitar Instructor. Clint performs in several jazz combos. He creates innovative compositions and shares them with prestigious ensembles including the Air Force Jazz Band.

Her diverse professional activities include work as a jazz composer, arranger and performer, conductor, keyboardist and electric bass player. Current groups include Auria, a duo with noted Chapman Stick player Steve Hahn, and Firesign a vocal quartet. She can form jazz combos that range from duos to 7 piece bands. Ekaterina

Ekaterina attended Central Music School for musically gifted children at the Moscow State Conservatory. Ms. Dobrotvorskaia graduated from the Central Music School in viola. She received a M.M. from the Moscow Conservatory She has received numerous scholarships and awards and was selected by the Moscow State Conservatory to attend master classes in Russia and Europe. A member of the Tempera String Quartet, this quartet represented Russia for a competition in Melbourne, Australia. Ms. Dobrotvorskaia served as Principal Violist of the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra in Moscow. Other performing credits include the Moscovia Chamber Orchestra and the Russian Philharmonia Symphony Orchestra. She was Principal Violist of the Pueblo Symphony for 10 years. She has been an Artist-in-Residence at Colorado State University–Pueblo. She has been a member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic since 2008.

Elisa received the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied violin and Suzuki Pedagogy. In demand as both a soloist and a chamber musician,  Elisa performed with the Academy Chamber Orchestra, Bach and the Baroque, the Pittsburgh Baroque Ensemble, and the Butler Symphony. A native of Colorado, Hillary  has established herself as an up-and-coming harpist in the United States.  She can be found in the summers driving over mountain passes with harp in tow to play classical music with some great people with festivals and companies such as the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Colorado Music Festival, and Boulder’s Mahlerfest.She has recently performed in such orchestras as the Minnesota Orchestra, The Syracuse Symphony, New World Symphony as well as the National Repertory Orchestra, Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra.Hillary completed her undergraduate and masters degrees at the Eastman School of Music with a Performers Certificate and Arts Leadership Program Certificate.  Some of her major teachers and inspirations include Kathleen Bride, Nancy Allen, Gretchen Van Hoesen, Kathy Bundock Moore, Rachel Ellins and Ann Marie Liss.

Javier is a multi-talented, multilingual, and multicultural musician. His fluency in classical guitar has made him a much sought after western-slope artist. Not only a fine soloist, Javier plays with a fabulous Mariachi Band. He teaches and performs throughout Colorado. As a student, Javier studied in both Mexico and the United States. He received his master’s degree in 2009. He was the first prize winner in the Denver Society of Classical Guitar’s premier competition.

Kaori

Kaori has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival and School, Kyoto International Music Student Festival, and the Colorado Mahler Fest Orchestra. Kaori has performed nationally and internationally as both soloist and chamber musician, earning many awards. She won the Honor Competition at the University of Colorado twice (2004 and 2007), placed fifth of 137 bassoonists at the 24th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 2007, and was a finalist in the Tsuyama Japan International Double Reed Competition in 2003. She graduated with her Artist Diploma in bassoon performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder in May 2009 after receiving her Master of Music degree at CU in 2008. Kaori graduated from the Aichi Prefecture University of Fine Arts and Music in Japan as one of four outstanding graduating seniors in the class of 2003.

Kari Clifton

Kari  is actively involved in a number of musical projects and collaborations in multiple genres including classical, jazz, rock, pop, indie, alternative, folk, as well as new works by 21st century composers. As a classically trained musician with a love for all musical styles, Kari aims to bridge the gap between classical music and just about everything else. She performs regularly at weddings, events, and churches in the Denver area and enjoys teaching cello as well as beginning-level violin and piano.
Kari began playing the cello at the age of ten. She has played in the Jefferson County All-county orchestra during her middle and high school years.  Kari has earned a Bachelors of Music in Cello Performance and is currently pursuing an additional degree in Jazz. While playing with the Metropolitan State Symphony Orchestra, she held positions as principal cellist. She plays classical, jazz and contemporary music. She is able to read treble clef, bass clef & Charts, which opens up a huge variety of music for you.

Karine was born and raised in Moscow. She started playing violin at the age of six, and was accepted at Gnessin’s Moscow Special Music School, where she studied with Irina Svetlova and Helen Mazor. In 1985 she was accepted at Gnessin’s Academy of Music, where she studied with Khalida Akhtyamova. During her college years her quartet won first prize in a Russian national competition of student string quartets; she earned a DMA from the Gnesins’ Russian Academy of Music in Moscow, Russia. In the US Karine studied violin with Efim Boico and Peter Miliawsky. Since 1999, Karine has been an artist-in-residence at CSU-Pueblo, formerly the University of Southern Colorado.While playing with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, she became Associate Principal Second Violin in 2004.

Masterful Musiciasn, Ida Findiku, Denver ViolinistAfter ranking first at the entrance exams at the Academy of Arts in Albania and being one of the ten best students in the country, Ida Findiku decided to come to America to follow her childhood dream and continue her music education. She finished her undergraduate studies at the Western Michigan University studying with Renata Knifik from the Merling Trio. She was granted a scholarship to work with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and played with them and other community orchestras for four years.
Ms. Findiku was rewarded a full scholarship and  an assistantship to pursue her master degree at the University of Denver where she worked with the world known soloist Linda Wang. While finishing her Performance Certificate at DU Ms. Findiku won the 2012 Lamont Chamber Music Competition. She received another full ride to continue her Orchestral Studies Certificate with the talented Colorado Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Yumi Hwang-Williams.
In 2015, she began her Doctorate  in Violin Performance

Michaela

Michaela:  As a classical musician, she has played with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Fort Collins Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic, and Cheyenne Symphony, as well as performing with Josh Groban, Rod Stewart, Natalie Merchant, Il Divo, Il Volo, and the Transiberian Orchestra.  She has performed across the country as well as abroad in Europe with the AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria focusing on operatic genres.  On the other side of things, she plays the 5-string electric violin in Spinphony, an all-girl electrified string quartet performing cross-over classical/pop touring internationally, and recently making their European debut in Reykjavik Iceland.  Other engagements include New York City’s Symphony Space “Wall to Wall” Stravinsky Festival, “Stravinsky Fest” in Kansas City, MO, and the historical Gem Theatre in Kansas City, MO.  As a chamber player, she has performed with the Sphere Ensemble, as well as kicking off Colorado’s Haydn Slam 2012-13 with Mondrian string quartet. Degreese include State University of New York College at Purchase, University of Missouri-Kansas City Bachelor’s Degree, Violin Performance, Master’s Degree, Violin Performance 2004 – 2006

He is a well known teacher at the Acoustic Music Revival Shop in Denver and has played at the Denver Art Museum and the Colorado History Museum. As a versatile guitarist, Roger performs with a variety of local ensembles. Roger, Jonathan, and Patrick are award winning members of our guitar quartet (This Guitar Quartet won the 2009 University of Denver’s Ensemble Competition) Roger is also a very accomplished acoustic bass player. His musical versatility keeps him really, really busy!

Dr.Sarah, oboe/English horn, was born and raised in upstate New York. In addition to being Instructor of oboe and English horn at the University of Northern Colorado, Dr. Bierhaus is the principal oboist of the Boulder Philharmonic and Fort Collins Symphony Orchestras and plays second oboe and English horn in the Central City Opera orchestra. As a soloist, she has performed with the Finger Lakes Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Carleton College orchestra, and the CU Boulder Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Bierhaus received her B.A. in Music from Carleton College. She holds her M.M. in Oboe Performance from the Eastman School of Music and her Doctorate of Musical Arts from C.U, Boulder.

Sarah is certified in the Suzuki Violin Method through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She has a BM and MM in Violin and Viola performance from the University of Denver where she studied with Yumi Hwang-Williams and Basil Vendryes. She received her training and certification in Suzuki Pedagogy with  James Maurer and Kathleen Spring.

Scott

Scott has performed professionally in a wide variety of musical styles and roles. As a studio musician in New York City with Carly Simon, He sang background vocals and played synthesizers on the hit, Coming Around Again, which was also the theme song to the movie Heartburn, starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep. He worked with Mariah Carey on her first recording session and album, as well as with singers Philip Bailey of Earth Wind and Fire and Robert Lamm of Chicago. He wrote and produced the title track to the album, Magnetic, by the jazz group Steps Ahead. He has worked as a jazz pianist in Washington D.C., Boston, Paris, and the Caribbean. He has a B.A. from the New England Conservatory of Music and a M.M. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Terry studied music composition at the University of North Dakota and at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, from which he holds a Master of Arts Degree in Composition. Terry’s choral compositions are widely performed, recorded, and published. His music has been featured on the National Public Radio programs of Sacred Classics and Classical Discoveries, as well as the Colorado Public Radio programs of Colorado Matters and Colorado Spotlight. Veronika

Veronika was born and raised in Novosibirsk. She started playing the violin at the age of seven and studied over the next several years with Arnold Kobyliansky, Alexei Kiselev and Marc Meinbach, earning an MM degree at the Gnesins’ Russian Academy of Music in Moscow, Russia. Veronika is a founding member of the Veronika String Quartet, which started its career in 1989 under the tutelage of Borodin String Quartet cellist Valentin Berlinsky. After moving to the US, she continued her violin studies with Ralph Evans and Kurt Sassmannshaus. She also studied chamber music with Henry W. Meyer and members of the Fine Arts Quartet. Since 1999, Veronika has been an artist-in-residence at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Masterful Musician, Wellington Bullings

Wellington

Wellington has studied at the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Boston, writes and co-writes for film & TV, works as model and actor, and teaches voice lessons in Boulder Colorado.She was recently awarded the “Pathways To Jazz Grant”, and will be releasing a new album.
This Soulful songstress , Wellington began her music journey in the mountains of Colorado. She grew up with a Jamaican Father and European mother who helped develop her taste for good music. The sweet sounds of Calypso, Jamaican ska, soul, rock, reggae were always playing in the house as a child. As a teenager, she discovered jazz on her own when she randomly bought an old Billie Holiday record at a garage sale. Since that day she’s been deeply in love with jazz ever since.
