International Year of the Bird concert at the Louisville Center for the Arts this Sunday Oct 14 at 3 pm.
This will be a multifaceted event featuring poetry, visual media, and classical, bluegrass, folk and jazz songs about and inspired by …Birds! Laurie Amodeo and Scott Martin are performing the beautiful Jobim tune Passarim along with Emma Shubin, flute, Kat Fritz, viola, and Andy Reiner, violin, along with other fun stuff. Scott will also be collaborating with poet Erin Schaaf Robertson too.

Bonnie will be playing with fellow “Pathways to Jazz” recipient Scott Martin, a wonderful pianist who just released his own CD “Alone at Midnight”, the soulful Leo Arguello on bass, and the creative Braxton Kahn on drums. They’ll be playing standards, originals, arrangements, a diverse assortment of music.

talented ensemble is hosting their “Season Opener”. This concert set will feature Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings and other pieces including works by Paul McCartney, Phish, Debussy, Satie, and more. There are so many Masterful Musicians in this group. It will feel like a reunion, not just a Kick A$$ concert.

A new venue for Bonnie. She’ll be playing with a fantastic young bassist, Andrew Rose, and the place is pretty cool too. It is a winery, but they also make alcoholic cider (around 8% like beer), mixers. she hasn’t tasted the pizza yet, but saw it coming out of the wood fired oven, and it looked really delicious!
