October 14: Year of the bird concert

October 12, 2018 International Year of the Bird concert at the Louisville Center for the Arts this Sunday Oct 14 at 3 pm.  This will be a multifaceted event featuring poetry, visual media, and classical, bluegrass, folk and jazz songs about and inspired by …Birds! Laurie Amodeo and Scott Martin are performing the beautiful Jobim tune Passarim along with Emma Shubin, flute, Kat Fritz, viola, and Andy Reiner, violin, along with other fun stuff. Scott will also be collaborating with poet Erin Schaaf Robertson too.

Sphere Ensemble : September 15 & 16

August 31, 2018 talented ensemble is hosting their “Season Opener”. This concert set will feature Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings and other pieces including works by Paul McCartney, Phish, Debussy, Satie, and more.  There are so many Masterful Musicians in this group. It will feel like a reunion, not just a Kick A$$ concert.

Kari Clifton

June 26, 2018 Kari  is actively involved in a number of musical projects and collaborations in multiple genres including classical, jazz, rock, pop, indie, alternative, folk, as well as new works by 21st century composers. As a classically trained musician with a love for all musical styles, Kari aims to bridge the gap between classical music and just about everything else. She performs regularly at weddings, events, and churches in the Denver area and enjoys teaching cello as well as beginning-level violin and piano. Kari began playing the cello at the age of ten. She has played in the Jefferson County All-county orchestra during her middle and high school years.  Kari has earned a Bachelors of Music in Cello Performance and is currently pursuing an additional degree in Jazz. While playing with the Metropolitan State Symphony Orchestra, she held positions as principal cellist. She plays classical, jazz and contemporary music. She is able to read treble clef, bass clef & Charts, which opens up a huge variety of music for you.
